All across Alberta, Filipinos started to do fund rasing events to help the victims of the typhoon. Filipino Bands will hold a concert on Saturday February 11th, 2012 at Aldergrove Community Hall, supported by Filipino Radio Enthusiasts of Edmonton (FREEDX) and Alberta Regional Songfest Society. The Friends of Edmonton Millwoods Association (FEMMA) raised thousands of funds by Christmas caroling during the Christmas season .The Pinoy Singing Sensation through the help of Crosstown Motors and Sunfreight Cargo will staged free concerts at Milbourne Town Center and West Edmonton Mall on January 28 and February 8, 2012 respectively. The Tsada of Edmonton Association whose members are from Cagayan de Oro started to collect money shortly after typhoon and sent some relief goods through the effort of one of the members Francis Roa.
It will take months and even years to rebuild a region that was unfortunately destroyed by this catastrophic act of nature. The Philippine Consulate in in Vancouver has sent a letter all across Canada and appeal to the generosity of the Filipinos and Canadian. And as expected once again the Filipino communities in Alberta and across Canada started to open up their hearts and wallets to aid the thousands of victims that survived the calamity.
