Lateral Movements will Confuse Clottey

Freddie Roach already knows how to neutralize Joshua Clottey’s accurate punches: use the same lateral movements that Manny Pacquiao employed to confuse and eventually defeat boxing great Oscar De la Hoya during their Dream Match in December 2008.
The 7-time world champion is currently hot on training at Roach’s Wild Card gym in Los Angeles, California in preparation for the March 13 fight at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas. At stake is Pacquiao’s WBO welterweight title he recently won from Miguel Cotto.
Roach said he believes Pacquiao’s punching power and speed could mean Clottey’s first career loss by knockout.
‘Floyd is not ready’
During a break in training sessions, Pacquiao faced the media to share his thoughts about Floyd Mayweather Jr.
He said the American came out with the drug testing demand to avoid fighting him. The allegations that Pacquiao was on performance enhancing drugs eventually led to the collapse of negotiations between their camps.
Labor Day bout between Mayweather and Mosley
Floyd Mayweather Jr. will fight Shane Mosley on May 1 in Las Vegas.
Mayweather (40-0), 32, retired in 2008 but made a comeback by defeating Juan Manuel Marquez via unanimous decision.
Five-time champion Mosley (46-5), 38, last fought in January 2009 when he earned a ninth-round stoppage against Antonio Margarito to win the welterweight world title for the third time.
