Massive Campaign Spending for Villar

The official campaign period has not even started yet presidential hopeful Sen. Manny Villar has reportedly spent P543 million in ads during a three-month period from October to December 2009.
This data was provided by AC Nielsen Philippines a global marketing research firm, which also revealed that Villar spent as much as P70.43 million on ads on the first month of this year. In comparison, administration candidate Gilbert Teodoro spent P29.53 million while LP standard bearer Sen. Noynoy Aquino spent a measly P7.82 million..
The sustained marketing campaign had a big impact on the public as evidenced by Villar’s gain of 12 percentage points in the pre-election survey.
Villar has also engaged the services of several top advertising firms in the country. His TV ads have also featured top celebrities that include Dolphy, Willie Revillame, and even Manny Pacquiao.
